Music

Atmospheric Music that sympathetically highlights the wonderful descriptive lyrics of the Bard

The play’s music incorporates some of the most colourful and insightful poetry lyrics crafted by Burns. With the exception of a few set-piece songs, the music is generally low key in the background of some of the action.

Set pieces include music for pub musicians, a rousing jig sequence at Kirk Alloway, the young witch’s initiation, and Highland Mary entertaining the crowd with “Island Lullaby.” The finale also features the rousing song “Liberty” below which builds from sombre tones to a fitting climax of the play.
